It has been more than a year since l discovered Curtis Gould and his unique poetry. I consider myself lucky for having taken journeys into his poetic world. His poems often take me to my deepest feelings and fill my eyes with tears… (He makes me laugh sometimes for the new cell phone he has had as if he is very young boy having a new toy.) Sometimes l put myself in place of the women to whom he writes, and l wish someone were doing the same to me… it is an inexpressible feeling of joy for me to have him sharing his soul, thoughts and ideas through his poetry.- Handan Ozçelik, Istanbul, Turkey

The Sea And The Shore

The sea of me, the shore of you…
Where you can taste my salt waters
Here my ebb meets your flow.
This is where my depths touch your breadth.
Feel these tides of mine,
as they move back and forth,
covering then uncovering the sacred parts,
of our sweetest merging.

Every sea needs the shore.
By you, I am defined…
See how your lands are holding me in my place…?
Sometimes I caress you.
Sometimes I pound and crash.
But always, the vibrant truth is revealed…
In you, I am.

The sea of you, the shore of me…
Where I can taste your salt waters.
Here your ebb meets my flow.
This is where your depths reach my breadth.
I feel these tides of you,
as they move back and forth,
covering then uncovering the sacred parts,
of our sweetest merging.

Every sea needs the shore.
By me, you are defined…
See how my lands are holding you in your place…?
Sometimes you caress me.
Sometimes you pound and crash.
But always, the vibrant truth is revealed…
In me, you are.

Curtis’ poems have touched my life in a very special way. His poems have made me realize that, love is strong yet delicate… It can be broken… To truly love is to understand this… To be in love is to respect this. Dora Maria, San Diego Calf.

Under My Quilt

Laying here now, in my bed.
I am listening to the rain.
This storm got serious about an hour ago.
Nature tapping softly above,
This is ancient music for sure...

I am being lulled… lulled into sweet thoughts of you.
Of moments we had,
and of moments yet to be had.

It is warm and comfortable under this quilt, and I am smiling.
Sleep is pulling me, gently tugging me.

I am slipping… ever closer to,
a place behind my closed eyes.
A place where,
We never stop dancing.
