From Alfred Nestor

Some days ago, one of my wife's customers bought the book from her shop, and sent it to London where one of his relatives is terminally ill in a London Hospital. His family sit at his bed side, and read to him, and this customer thought that he may like the story.

Anyway, we heard yesterday, that the sick relative started to cry, and instead of being comatose, or bad tempered, he started to accept his condition, and is now starting to smile, indeed, is waiting to hear the rest of the story, as his family read out only 4 or 5 pages to him.

His family send their deepest thanks as the story has altered what is left of their fathers life. Their father in fact tried to kill himself some weeks ago, but now no longer talks or thinks this way.

Their father in fact was also German born, and he too escaped to the UK. HIS father was in the German airforce. He has understood that 'there is always light at the end of the tunnel', and says this everytime the family visit when they ask how he is feeling.

Rols, This is just what I was trying to explain, and say in this book, and if I never sell another book, ever! This one thing has made it all worth while!!

From Angela Edgar
Rols (& Co), it has been an absolute pleasure working with you, you are a patient inspiration - you never rushed me at all and to finally see INSPIRED in print really is a dream come true and something I am very proud of. It did bring a tear to my eye when I sat in the car looking at my works in print after collecting it!

I would happily (and have done already) recommend you to any budding poet or novellist who would like to see their work in print and has been said - reasons for publishing with you could be a portfolio to show a major publisher, to have it immortalised forever just for you, your friends or family, or simply to try and change the world for a price that doesn't cost the earth. I plan to take it as far as possible - I think I'm one of those ambitious poets you talk about.

My book launch on 11 Feb '08 which was also a joint opening night for a new fortnightly spoken word event I co-host with a fellow poet, was a success. I sold out all the books I had collected from you earlier that day and had orders for more & supporters wearing t-shirts with the book cover on it. No local press were there but it was a brill night, everyone said they thoroughly enjoyed the evening with great music, readings from me, my co-host and some other poets I'd came across in past months and a fab prize draw, loads of cd's and no less than a bottle of champs and a book as part of 1st prize. I'd love to have another book launch later this year when perhaps the book is a little better known.

Thank you again for this wonderful opportunity Mad Jock! Angee.xxx

From Charlyne Zurick aka Char
To any of you who are, or may be, considering publishing your work, I highly recommend going to madjockpublishers.com, and checking it out. I had my first book of poetry published here, and found Rols to be a delight to work with. He worked with me until we got it right. I was very satisfied in all aspects, as well as with the fine quality of my book. I think you will be happy with him, as well. He does a terrific job, is fast, and doesn`t charge an arm and a leg, like some publishers do. Give him a try!

Dreams Realised

Poets have a strange device
To vent their wrath as no mere whim,
To write a verse of sharpened wit
And threaten trespassers within.

But even hardened wordsmith wizards
Can often find a battened door,
With no clear way to slide a sonnet
Or slip a surreptitious score.

They use their guile to gain attention
By quoting literary creed
And telling manic marketing minions
The quality of reply they need

Alas those pleading piquant verses
Disappear to blackest pools
With non-responding silent splashes
Just go away poetic fools.

Then in this world of worthy writers
Appears a publisher; all the rage
Who finds a printer, builds a website
Creates an Amazonian page

Mad jock publishers know the business
Hear the pleading of poetic bands
Then by some literary magic
Your longed for book is in your hands

Testimonial

I never thought this would happen,

My first book in my hot little hand,

I am so happy and delighted,

It turned out just as planned

The writing ‘bit’ was easy,

In composing I had some fun,

But of the friends I met along the way,

Rols Sperling was number one.

He complimented my poetry,

In fact I liked his too,

I wanted my work to be published,

My wish he made come true.

Just like a knight in shining armour,

Mad Jock helped this damsel in distress,

He scaled the walls of the castle,

To where ISBN numbers were kept.

Pulling down the publisher’s drawbridge,

Mad Jock had one clear aim,

To take the works he liked to the printers,

Publishing would become his game.

He believed in me, so I thank him,

As a publisher he is great,

So send your manuscript of verses,

Do it now, no need to wait!

Mad Jock Publishers are inspirational,

A choice of poems you can enjoy,

And if you want your work to be published

This is who you should employ….

Mad Jock Publishers.

“Rols is one of the most interesting people I've met through the internet. He is a gadabout, jovial, creative fellow always looking for friendship and a way to help people get their books published. To that end, Rols has started Mad Jock Publishers.

He is a musician as well, with a fine ear for interpreting words into melody... oh, and did I say that he can write too? I have read Rols' work: I own his book.

Rols can make me laugh; he can make me irritated, he can make me think. But he can never make me cry for his world is full of good humour, so bright is his outlook it takes over his writing.

Rols is a good writer and an even better person to know.”

Jeff Howe author of ‘From Here to Never’ and ‘Falling From a Cloud’.
